Halan ride sharing app: Over 3 million rides in its first year

Founded in 2017 by Mounir Nakhla & Ahmed Mohsen, Halan is a ride sharing app for motorcycles and tricycles (commonly called ‘tuktuks’) in Egypt. The company  also provide on-demand logistics solutions.

Halan have clocked over 3 million rides in its first year and currently has over 70 employees.The ride sharing app is downloaded more than 500,000 times.

To ensure safety the rider undergoes several training program and drivers are selected as they pass their training. Also the app will pre inform about driver and cost of the trip.

“Halan was launched  to solve a real problem, to serve a real need in the market”according to  Mounir Nakhla, Halan CEO and Co-Founder. He further adds “Halan is a technology solution that is built to put people first and improve their livelihoods.  It moves people and goods how to get valtrex online safely, efficiently, and economically and generates thousands of jobs. “

The ride sharing startup received 2 million dollars in seed funding at the end of 2017. Halan also got multi-million dollar funding recently by Singapore’s Battery Road Digital Holdings and Egypt’s Algebra Ventures. We will use this round of funding to expand to more cities and more countries, offer more services, and to build better technology,” said Nakhla.

With its initial success in Egypt the ride sharing startup has also expanded to Sudan and plans expansion across other countries in the next couple of years.

The future looks bright for this ride sharing start up as it is one of the fastest growing apps in Egypt, providing safe, convenient, and affordable transportation for undeserved communities and of course creating thousands of  jobs.
